Participating vehicles that wish to be included in the judging process
must arrive by 10:00am. Please plan accordingly. All class
awards are based upon staff judging. Participang voting for
people's choice awards must be turned in by noon. Staff reserves the right to place vehicles in the appropriate
class. Open hoods and trunks are optional. Your vehicle may earn extra
recognition if these areas are open and on display. Personal items
purses, water, coolers, etc., should not be left in the vehicle. Ropes
or surround cables are prohibited. Personal tents are permitted
but MUST BE ANCHORED and you must inform staff when you park your
vehicle so they allow sufficient space.
Best of Show
This winning entry will be selected based upon participant voting in
addition to input by staff. Any
vehicle in any class is eligible.
Best Restored and Novelty Police Vehicle / 1900 – 2002
This class includes original police
vehicles (non police package cars that were actually used as a police vehicle) or a police package vehicle. Also
includes vehicles that are not original or police package vehicles, but have been restored to resemble one. It
also includes law enforcement related TV and movie police cars.
Best Display Vehicle
This class includes vehicles that are exempt from judging. Vehicles in this class may be
owned by show volunteers, or participants that do not wish to be judged. Vehicles in this class may be awarded
by Police Chief’s choice, Chicago Police Award, or Sponsorship Family Award.
Best Restored Special Service Pursuit Package Vehicle
This class includes any police package Mustang or Camaro that is
privately owned.
Best Public Relations, Volunteer, Explorer or Cadet Vehicle
This class includes public agency or privately owned vehicles utilized for a
public relations assignment or vehicles that are utilized for
volunteers, explorers, or cadets serving in police or fire. This
class would also include public agency vehicles utilized for
recruitment.
Best Specialty, Public Relations, Volunteer, Recruitment, Explorer, C.S.O., or Cadet Emergency Vehicle
This class includes public agency vehicles used for traffic enforcement, SWAT, K-9, bomb squads, prisoner
transport, vehicles within the title, and others as determined.
Best Police Motorcycle 1900 - 2022
This class includes restored or current, agency or privately owned
police motorcycles.
Best Fire, Ambulance, Medical, Military or Professional Vehicle
This class includes any restored or current
fire vehicle, ambulance, medical, military, or professional vehicle, privately or publicly owned.
Best In Service Police Vehicle
This class includes any current vehicle owned by a public agency.
Best In Service Security, Tow Truck or Daily Driver Vehicle
This class includes any security vehicle, tow
truck, or daily driver vehicle. A Daily Driver vehicle is defined as a vehicle that can be a prior police package
vehicle now privately owned, without markings or equipment, or other similar plain looking vehicles.
Police Chief’s Choice
Two vehicles will be selected from any class by Ripon Police Chief Edward F. Ormonde
and Menlo Park Police Chief David Norris (or their designees).
Chicago Police Award
One vehicle from any class will be selected by retired Sergeant Greg Reynolds of
the Chicago Police Department.
Sponsorship Family Award
One vehicle from any class will be selected by retired Menlo Park Police Chief
Bruce Cumming.
